MCC now opens its door for boys.

Mount Carmel College, which was known to be an iconic women’s college, is now all set to open its door2024s for boys. MCC, after 75 years of providing education only for girls, will now allow boys to also join. Earlier in 2016, MCC allowed boys to take admission in post-graduate degrees, and the count was only 19 students, but now MCC will allow boys to take admission in both undergraduate and post-graduate degrees.

MCC wishes to become a deemed-to-be university, just like Jain Deemed-to-Be University is currently. MCC is currently an autonomous college and wants to change its status to a deemed university. To achieve this, MCC wishes to open its door for boys and turn it into a co-ed college.

When this news was announced, it attracted both praise and criticism from the students. Girls felt MCC was a safe place that was free of boys, and they feel that they won’t feel the same anymore. While some are happy that it's now a co-ed education.
