IIT Delhi Introduces Pioneering M.A. in Culture, Society, and Thought

The Indian Institute of Technology, or IIT Delhi, has taken a novel step towards interdisciplinary program education with the launch of its M.A. in Culture, Society, and Thought program. This unique two-year full-time program, offered by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, will commence in July 2024.

This program distinguishes itself by fostering an interdisciplinary program approach to understanding contemporary issues. Students will delve into the core areas of sociology, literature, and philosophy, gaining a comprehensive perspective on the interplay between culture, society, and the evolution of thought.

    Key Highlights:

  • Focus:critical examination of contemporary aspects through the lens of sociology, literature, and philosophy.

  • Curriculum: Diverse theoretical and methodological approaches to analyse the complexities of the modern world.

  • Duration: Four semesters (24 months).

  • Eligibility: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent CGPA).

  • Selection Process: A written test conducted by the department or GATE score in relevant humanities subjects, followed by an interview.
