Maharashtra Board Class 12 Exams Kick Off Today; Aspirations Rise Amidst New Rules

Pune, February 22, 2024: Hundreds of thousands of students across Maharashtra embarked on a crucial journey today as the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Class 12 exams commenced. Organised by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), the exams will continue until March 19th, 2024, marking a significant milestone for the state's student community.

This year's exams witnessed several changes, including the removal of the 10-minute question paper reading time previously offered. However, students now receive an additional 10 minutes at the end of the exam to complete their answers. The exams are held in two shifts: morning (11 AM–2:20 PM) and afternoon (3 PM–5:10 PM), covering diverse subjects across various streams.

Amidst the usual pre-exam jitters, students are also navigating the new exam format. Many expressed their mixed feelings, with some welcoming the additional time to answer while others felt the removal of reading time might disadvantage them. Regardless, the atmosphere remains charged with determination and a collective desire to excel.

Parents and educators are offering their unwavering support, encouraging students to stay focused and manage their stress effectively. "We understand the pressure they're facing, and we're here to guide them every step of the way," said Mr. Rao, a veteran teacher. "These exams are important, but we also want them to remember that their mental well-being is crucial."
