Srinagar Schools Get Early Start as Timings Change for Summer

With warmer weather arriving in the valley, Srinagar schools’ timings are set to change starting May 6, 2024. The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) announced the adjustments to accommodate the rising temperatures and longer daylight hours.

Classes used to commence at 9:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM at both government and private schools located inside Srinagar's municipal boundaries. But as a result of the new rules, schools must now send students by 2:30 p.m. and begin classes at 8:30 a.m.

With the shift in schedule, children will be able to take advantage of the longer afternoon sunshine and the cooler mornings. The change applies to all government and private schools within the municipal limits of Srinagar.
