B.Sc Anesthesia Technology Course: Admission, Subjects, Colleges, Scope

B.Sc in Anesthesia Technology is an undergraduate medical program for providing candidates with knowledge and expertise of anesthetic products. This course provides candidates with a theoretical and practical approach to the subjects. Anesthesiologists are required at the time of operations and surgeries. The minimum eligibility required for this course is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board and must have physics, chemistry and biology as their core subjects.

  • Anesthesia Technology is very practical and pragmatic. There is much more to just putting the patient to sleep. There are many subspecialities within the field that have their own importance. Majority of anaesthesia technologists work in operation theaters during the surgeries including cardiac, eyes, neuro or ENT. There is also a dedicated field for pediatric anesthesiologists.

B.Sc Anesthesia Technology: Admission Process

Admission to Anesthesia Technology differs from College to College. Some of the colleges take merit based admission based on the score of class 10+2 results.The merit is released and the candidates coming within that cut-off can take admission. While some of the colleges opt for Entrance Examination.

Direct Admission Through Direct admission the candidate can be selected on the basis of the class 10+2 score. Some of the points are mentioned below for your reference,

  • Students can directly apply in the colleges who take admission on merit basis. The candidates can go there and fill out the application form along with all the original documents and self-attested photocopies of the documents.
  • Candidates should wait for the colleges to release the cut-off and the candidates if coming within the cut-off can apply for the course.

B.Sc Anesthesia Technology: Eligibility

The eligibility criteria also vary depending upon the colleges but the basic requirements remain the same. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the course. If the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, their application will be rejected. Some of the basic eligibility are pointed below for your reference

  • Candidates must have cleared 10+2 from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 45% or above.
  • Candidates must have done 10+2 in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology as their core subjects.
  • Candidates of Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes category must have scored a minimum of 40% or above in their class 12th.
  • Candidates who are in their final term and are about to appear for their final examination can also apply for this course.
