What is BCA?

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is a 3-year undergraduate course dealing with computer applications and information technology subjects like C++ and JAVA, Networking, Data Structures, Statistics, Numerical Techniques, and Algorithm Design ensuring to be at par with BTech/BE courses in the areas of computer application and IT.

BCA Full form is Bachelors’s in Computer Application. GPRS Full Form is General Packet Radio Service, SAS Full Form is Statistical Analysis Software, HTTP Full Form is Hypertext Transfer Protocol. BCA Syllabus deals with the world of programming languages and prepares for a professional life in Information Technology.

BCA Admission Process

BCA Admission Process is based on merit as well as entrance examinations. The BCA Eligibility criteria for BCA admission is 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with computer application/science as an additional or core subject. DU BCA Eligibility is almost similar to BCA Admission in India, students need to be at least 17 years to apply for the course. BHU BCA Entrance Exam is not available since BHU does not provide BCA courses. BCA at Jadavpur university is not available.

BCA Eligibility

The basic BCA Eligibility criteria for admission in BCA courses are as follows:

  • The students must secure 50% or above in aggregate in Class 12 with any stream (Arts, Science, Commerce), with English and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
  • While some colleges do grant admission to students completing class 12 without Maths and English as compulsory subjects.
  • The minimum age that is considered to join the BCA course is 18 years, but this is not compulsory in all colleges. There is no upper age limit for BCA Admission.

BCA Admission 2022

  • BCA Admission 2022 is also based on entrance exams conducted at national as well as state levels.
  • Universities such as GGSIPU conducts their own entrance exam to enroll students in BCA course.
  • The registrations for BCA Admissions 2022 usually start around the month of March-May 2022, but some of the colleges start their registrations early.
  • Students enrolling in BCA Admission 2022 will have to secure a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in their 10+2, post which a valid cut-off score in BCA entrance exams will make them eligible to secure admissions to the Top BCA colleges.
  • BCA Entrance exams for which you might have to sit are IPU-CET, CUET, BUMAT, AIMA UGAT, etc.
  • SET and CUET will be conducted in the month of July.
