MD, or Doctor of Medicine, is a study of various diseases and their causes, as well as their consequences. MD is a Postgraduate degree that may be obtained after completing MBBS and a necessary one-year internship. The study focuses on major scientific topics such as Anatomy, General Medicine, Radiotherapy, and so on.
Candidates for MD studies must have obtained their MBBS from an ICMR-approved accredited institute. Candidates must also have completed a one-year required internship.
Admission to MD programmes is based on the results of admission tests. Candidates must pass any of the entrance examinations - NEET PG, INICET, and so on - in order to be admitted to MD programmes.

Entrance tests are used to determine admission to MD programmes. Some colleges have their own admission tests, such as AIIMS PG, JIPMER, and so on, whereas the common entrance exam is NEET PG, the score of which is accepted in all colleges. The MD admissions procedure is covered in detail below.
