A bachelor's degree in prosthetics and orthotics is a four-year full-time undergraduate programme that includes six months of required training in prosthetics and orthotics. Admission to this programme is based on students passing their senior secondary examinations from a recognised board, followed by passing certain additional mandatory admission tests.

Based on their ability and results, they accept a relatively limited number of students in a national-level admission test known as the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Some institutes administer their own admissions examinations. The undergraduate admissions process is the same across universities. Institutes publish their NEET-based cut-offs for various courses, and a select few individuals are admitted directly based on their NEET score.
