Admission 2023
NIT Delhi admission to various UG , PG and doctorate level programs is based on national level exams accepted by the institute. NIT Delhi offers a four-year B.Tech program in 3 specializations. Out of 3 specializations offered, the most opted stream at the institute is Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) with a cutoff range of 2521 in the JoSAA Counselling.For the B.Tech admissions at NIT Delhi, candidates are required to appear for JEE Main examination and participate in the JoSAA counseling for the final seat allotments. NIT Delhi Charges INR 96,866 per year for its B.Tech program.
NIT Delhi also offers admission to the M.Tech and Ph.D. programs. Admissions to the M.Tech program are done on the basis of GATE scores, while Ph.D. admissions are based on the written test and interview conducted by the institute.

- Candidates are selected on the basis of rank secured by them in JEE Main.

How to Apply for JEE Main 2023?
Candidates who are eligible for admission have to take the JEE Main. The application process is given below:
- Visit the official website of JEE- Main
- Register for the online application form
- Make a note of the system-generated applicaton number
- Create a password
- Log in again and fill out the form
- Upload scanned images of photographs and signature
- A fee of 650 INR (325 INR for reserved categories) will be charged/ It is to be paid through a Debit card, Credit card, Net banking, UPI, or Paytm.
- Keep a printout of the application form for future use.
For JOSAA Counseling
- Candidates who have a positive JEE Main score have to go for JoSAA counseling. Follow these steps to register:
- Click on the registration page at the official JoSAA website.
- Use the JEE Main application number to log in.
- Ensure that your candidate profile is accurate.
- Click on ‘Submit changes’
- Fill out your preferred colleges and specializations according to the list of available options.
- Lock the selected choices by clicking on ‘I agree to lock my choices’.
- Keep a printout of the page for future reference.
NIT Delhi M.Tech Admission 2023
NIT Delhi offers a Full-Time M.Tech program for a duration of two years. The program is being offered in 6 specializations with each having a total intake of 15 students. Admissions into the program are offered on the basis of scores obtained in the GATE examination, followed by CCMT Counseling.
NIT Delhi M.Tech Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates seeking admission to the M.Tech program at NIT Delhi are required to have a bachelor's degree such as B.E. or B.Tech in the relevant discipline.
- Candidates must have secured at least 60% or 6.5 CGPA in their graduation.
NIT Delhi M.Tech Selection Criteria
- Candidates are selected on the basis of the rank secured by them in the GATE exam.
- Allocation of seats is done after the successful completion of the CCMT counseling process and on the basis of previous academic records, availability of seats, and other factors.
How to apply for GATE?
- Those who are eligible for admission have to take the GATE. The registration process for it is given below:
- Visit the official website
- Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email ID, and mobile number.
- After the form is submitted, an enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number.
- Fill out the application form.
- A fee of 1,500 INR (750 INR for women and reserved categories) will be charged. It is to be paid online.
- Download the form and keep a printout for future reference.
CCMT Counselling:
- Candidates who take the GATE will have to go for CCMT counseling. To apply, follow the given steps:
- Register at the official website.
- Fill out the application form.
- Pay the registration fee of INR 2,200 (INR 1,700 for reserved categories).
- Click on “I agreeâ€.
- Start entering your choices. When it is done, lock the choices.
- Submit the application and keep a printout.
NIT Delhi Ph.D. Admission 2023
The Institute offers Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree programs under the following disciplines-
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- Electronics and Communication Engineering.
- Computer Science and Engineering.
- Mechanical Engineering.
- Applied Sciences.
- Humanities and Management.
NIT Delhi PhD Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates with a Master's degree or a Master’s degree by Research in Engineering / Technology disciplines with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or CGPA of 6.5/10 for Open / OBC category, and 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 for SC/ST candidates, in UG and in PG.
- Candidates appearing in their final exams are also eligible to apply provided they have to submit their provisional mark sheet with no backlog papers.
NIT Delhi Ph.D. Selection Criteria
- The selection procedure consists of three stages, Screening of the application, Entrance Test, and Interview.
- The screening will be conducted by the screening committee who will verify the eligibility of the candidate.
- The shortlisted applicants must appear for the entrance test followed by an interview. A candidate securing at least 40% marks in the Entrance test shall be declared qualified in the test.
- Preference is given to candidates with relevant work experience, project work & thesis, and performance in the interview.
How to Apply for Ph.D.?
- Visit the institute website, look for the research vacancies (if any), and read the admission details carefully.
- The registration process for admission to the Ph.D. isn’t conducted online. The candidate is required to register (in person) on the scheduled dates of registration.
- The applicant is required to fill the registration form and submit it to the DPGC convener.
- The screening committee will verify the eligibility of the candidate.
- If eligible, the candidates need to appear for the Entrance exam, followed by an Interview.
