About NEET UG 2024

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) stands as the exclusive entrance examination for securing admission into medical and paramedical courses in India. Administered annually by the National Testing Agency (NTA), this offline examination spans a duration of three hours and 20 minutes. It encompasses 200 questions from the fields of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with a requirement for candidates to attempt 180 questions. NEET serves as the gateway for admission into various programs, including MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BAMS, Veterinary, and other medical and paramedical courses across the country. The examination is conducted in 13 different languages, attracting a vast cohort of over 20 lakh candidates. The most sought-after courses include MBBS, followed by BDS and BSc Nursing. In the preceding year, NEET witnessed a notable surge in participation, surpassing records set in previous years.

The eligibility criteria for NEET 2024 have undergone changes concerning subjects and types of schooling. Candidates who have studied or are studying Biology/Biotechnology as additional subjects, in addition to Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English, will now be eligible to participate in the examination. According to the official notice released by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the revised eligibility criteria for NEET 2024 state that "Candidates who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology & English shall be eligible for appearing in NEET-UG." This marks a departure from the previous requirement where only those candidates who studied these subjects as main or core subjects were considered eligible.

The NEET eligibility criteria for 2024 can be summarized as follows:
• Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens. Non-resident Indians (NRI) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are also eligible to appear for NEET if they wish to pursue MBBS or other courses that accept NEET scores from an institute in India.
• Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will attain the same by December 31, 2024. The minimum date of birth for candidates should be on or before December 31, 2007. There is no upper age limit for NEET.
• Educational and Qualifying Marks Criteria: Candidates must have individually passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English in the qualifying examination. The qualifying aggregate for General, General-PWD, and Reserved category candidates is 50 percent, 45 percent, and 40 percent, respectively.

• Candidates are advised to present a valid form of identification, such as an Aadhaar card, ration card, bank account passbook, passport, or any other government-issued photo ID card. This document serves as proof of identity for the NEET 2024 application form.
• Furthermore, applicants should provide comprehensive personal details, including their full names, dates of birth, permanent addresses, active email addresses, and mobile numbers, along with the necessary supporting documentation.
• Additionally, it is imperative to include images of the following: a recent passport-sized photograph, a postcard-sized photograph, a signature, and the impression of the left thumb. These visual representations are crucial for the completion of the required documentation process.

• Step 1: Gather Documents

• Step 2: Visit the NEET Website
  Navigate to the official NEET website provided by the authorities to access the application form.
• Step 3: Register
  Click on the “Register” or “New User” button. Enter your details such as name, date of birth, and contact information to obtain a unique registration ID and password.
• Step 4: Fill the Application Form
  Log in using your registration ID and password. Complete the application form with accurate personal details, educational qualifications, and other necessary information.
• 5: Upload Documents
  Scan and upload your photograph and signature following the specified format and size requirements.
• Step 6: Payment
  Make the application fee payment online using the available payment methods. Retain the payment receipt as proof.
• Step 7: Review and Submit
  
• Thoroughly review all entered information. Make any necessary corrections, and once satisfied with the accuracy, submit your application.
• Step 8: Print Confirmation
  Upon successful submission, download and print the confirmation page. This document serves as proof of your application for NEET UG 2024.
