About the Exam

PACET stands for Planning and Architecture Common Test. It is a state-level examination conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Technology (JNTU). This entrance exam is conducted for applicants in the architectural field. This exam tests the ability of the candidate in the subject of architecture. It is a national-level exam that is open to candidates interested in the field of architecture. This entrance exam is restricted to Andhra Pradesh and administered by the Board of Technical Education. This entrance exam can be taken by a candidate who wants to pursue a career in architecture and design. This test will help them get into the best colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

Eligibility

Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education or equivalent professional courses and bridging or any other examination recognized as equivalent. to the Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education and should have secured:

  • No less than 50% marks in the aggregate with Mathematics and English as subjects of examination for admission into 5-year B.Arch degree course
  • No less than 50% marks in the aggregate with any subjects for admission into a 4-year B.Plan degree course.

Candidates must have completed a three-year diploma in Engineering/Architecture (10+3) from Andhra Pradesh State Board of Technical Education and Training or equivalent recognized by Andhra Pradesh State Board of Technical Education and Training and must have:

  • No less than 50% marks in the aggregate with Mathematics and English as subjects of examination for admission into 5-year B.Arch degree course
  • No less than 50% marks with any subject for admission into a 4-year B.Plan degree course.
Candidates should have completed 16 years of age by the date of commencement of admission or on such other date as may be notified by the PACET committee and there is no upper age limit. The candidate must also be an Indian National

Application Form JNTUPACET 2023

  • The application form for PACET 2023 is available online and students can get it from there.
    Students who meet the eligibility criteria need only fill out the application form.
  • Aspiring candidates can apply for JNTU PACET by obtaining the application form along with the enclosures including the “Instruction Booklet for admission to engineering courses in JNTU in any of the following ways:
  • For Architecture or for Planning in person on payment School of Planning and Architecture JNTU, Mahaveer Marg, Masab Tank, Hyderabad; Dept. of Architecture, Andhra University, Vishakapatnam; JNTU College of Engineering, Anantapur; Govt. Polytechnic, Vijayawada.
  • By post, by paying a demand draft in favour of the Secretary, APSCHE gives the clear address to which the application form is to be posted.

Syllabus for JNTUPACET 2023 Test 1 (Drawing)

  • Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and render the same in a visually appealing manner.
  • Visualizing and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on the surroundings.
  • A sense of perspective drawing.
  • Combining and composing given three-dimensional elements to form a building or structural form.
  • Creating an interesting two-dimensional composition using given shapes or forms
  • Creating visual harmony using colors in a given composition.
  • Understanding of scale and sense of proportion.
  • Drawing from memory through pencil sketching on themes from day-to-day experiences.

  • Visualizing three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings
  • Visualizing different sides of a three-dimensional object
  • Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities

Syllabus for JNTUPACET 2023 for Planning

  • Graphic representation and communication - recognition and identification of symbols, and graphic representations.
  • Pattern recognition - numerical, verbal, geometrical, graphic
  • Logical thinking / analytical reasoning - matching concepts to situations, interpreting situations
  • Imaginative comprehension and expression - description of situations in cities / town / villages.
  • Planning and development of general knowledge - National and local plans, policies, books, authors, planners.
  • Community awareness - Income groups, poverty groups, and problems, Local governance practices, community associations and activities, and community amenities.
  • Geography - Indian, A.P State -physical, economic, political.
  • Environment and Public Health - Indian, and A.P State, problems, concerns, issues – sanitation, environmental impacts of economic activities.
  • Quantitative abilities - numerical, geometrical
  • Scientific thinking- Fundamental principles and laws of physics, chemistry, biology –scientific method.
